Every year in Springtime I am busy visiting my favorite places in Valais, where you can find the almond trees in blossom. The spectacle is amazing, I can’t get enough of looking at these gorgeous pink spring flowers. Nothing is as pretty in the spring as the flowering almond trees.

The Almond comes originally from the Middle East and was spread by humans in ancient time to northern Africa, Southern Europe and also to California.

Actually, these trees are rather rare in our region, there is one small one in the village where I live, but most of them are in the Central Valais, in Saillon and around Sierre/Venthone.
