Today, on the way home from Martigny, I stopped at the Waterfall “Pisse-Vache”. It’s an amazing waterfall, the biggest in the Valais. While I enjoyed absorbing the water drops from the fall, a lady, with a really big back pack arrived and we started talking. She explained to me that she came from Belgium all the way on foot and is going to Rome by the Via francigena and then from Rome to St. Jacques de Compostelle.
She will be on the road for one year. We had a cup of coffee together and she patiently answered all my questions. I was curious to get to know what experience she was having in Switzerland. Up to now, coming from the Jura to Lausanne – St. Maurice she found hardly any natural paths. For her, we have too many paved roads to walk on. Of course, this can be an advantage or a disadvantage.
