Crans-Montana, the best bread in town

Some years ago I discovered in a bakery shop in Montana a fantastic bread, it’s the special bread from the Valais, but this version is made with apricots, figs, and raisins.

Every time I go to Montana, I come back home with this bread, made by the bakery pastry shop Taillens, which is a family enterprise, founded over 70 years ago.  The bread has a rich texture, you can easily eat the slice alone but I prefer to put a little bit butter on it. It also fits well eating together with cheese and dried meat. This combination of sweet and sour is lovely and just delicious! And when you go to the shop, have a look at the fantastic macarons near the entry,  they are on sale in many different colors- aromas, like pistachio, raspberry, chocolate, vanilla, mango etc.etc.

You find another big bakery shop in Montana, Gerber, which sells also fantastic loaves of bread and sweeties, but I will talk another time about it.
