The principal grape of Lavaux is Chasselas, one of the great grapes of the world. But Chasselas from one cru to the next can be very different.
I improved my knowledge but wine and tasting is definitely a job which you cannot learn in one day. Anyway, I was impressed by this old village in the region of Lavaux. One of the best wine is in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. For this event, the whole village was engaged and offered so many different local products, like saucisses, pastries, different sorts of cheeses, bread, all that goes well with the wine.
This fest is happening once a year, the first Saturday in May.
